Linking to Rank Higher
Looking to rank higher on the search engines? You can easily raise through
the ranks of the search engines with the help of links. A link is simply
your web sites URL embedded in hypertext code on another person’s web
site. By using links you can benefit from search Engines such as Google.
Here are some tips.
There are three main types of links; reciprocal links, direct links
and paid links. Reciprocal links is when you and another web developer
swap each others link. This is a great and usually free way to grow
your web site. However many of the search engines are now discounting
reciprocal links as not as important due to the many link farms and
link swapping sites that have popped up in the past. More and more value
is placed on direct links or sometimes called one way links.
Direct links is when another web site places your URL on their web site.
While much more difficult to receive due to its nature, web sites place
much more value on them. There are two easy ways to get direct links.
You can create content that is distributed such as an article or RSS
feed or you can create a computer code or program that can be distributed
as long as the other web site cites your link.
Paid links are the last option. They are identical to direct links,
but require payment for posting. Sometimes payment is a one time fee
or a monthly fee. So if you want to build a successful web site, build
links to rank higher.
